BlockURL ("we", "our", "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that blocks unwanted popup windows and redirect ads. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Data We Collect

We collect minimal data necessary to provide the service:

• Email address — only if you create an account via Google Sign-In, used for authentication and subscription management.
• Blocked domain list — the domains you add to your blacklist, stored in Chrome Sync Storage on your device.
• Block statistics — daily and total block counts, stored locally on your device.
• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Browsing history
• Page content
• Personal information beyond your email
• IP addresses
• Cookies for tracking

How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate your account and manage your subscription
• To sync your blocked domain list across your Chrome browsers
• To enforce daily block limits for free users

Data Storage

Your blocked domains and statistics are stored locally using Chrome's built-in storage API. Account data (email and subscription status) is stored on Cloudflare's secure infrastructure.

Third-Party Services

• Google OAuth — for sign-in authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Stripe — for payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare — for hosting. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties, except as required by the third-party services listed above to provide the service.

Data Deletion

You can delete your blocked domains at any time from the extension popup. To delete your account, contact us at the support email below.

Permissions

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• storage — to save your blacklist and settings
• tabs — to detect and close blocked popups
• webNavigation — to catch popups before they load
• alarms — to reset daily block count
• host_permissions (all URLs) — to monitor popups from any domain
